Essence Lash Base Mascara

Monday, 2 February 2015

The essence lash base is a new product from the essence range and after having used it every day the last 2 weeks I can officially say that I'm a huge fan!

I have used a lash primer for years now. I have alternated between M.A.C's Prep + Prime and the Smashbox lash primer. Now there's a new contender for a spot in my daily makeup routine.

What Essence say:
The first lash base mascara by essence! Applied underneath mascara, it lengthens and thickens your lashes as well as providing extra volume. Simply apply the white lash base mascara texture and immediately cover with a coat of your favorite mascara. Suitable for use with contact lenses.

What I say:
At £2.50 it's far cheaper than M.A.C's £13 lash primer. The Essence Lash Base does an amazing job!

What I love:
  • It makes lashes look longer and voluminous.
  • Keeps mascara looking better for longer.
  • Assists in keeping mascara on longer, but also makes it easier to remove (weird I know!)
  • Keeps your regular mascara going for longer. You now need less product to achieve serious volume and length.

Where it has its weaknesses:
  • I must admit that this stuff is a little different to the higher priced products I have used as in I find it to be less tacky.
  • It doesn't claim to moisturise or treat the lashes like other higher priced lash priming products

While yes it has its pros and cons, at the end of the day it does an amazing job at an amazing price point.

I am converted! I'm saying goodbye to high-end lash primer and hello to the amazing Lash Base by Essence Cosmetics. Let's face it, at £2.50 (9ml) it's far cheaper than handing over £13 for M.A.C's Prep + Prime Lash (10ml) or £16 for the Smashbox Lash Primer (4.5g)!

I love this magical eye product so much that I even rushed out to by another in complete paranoia that I wont be able to get it easily again.

I grabbed my Essence Lash Base mascara for  £2.50 from my local Wilko store.

Do you use an eyelash primer on the reg?
