April Empties 2014

Thursday, 8 May 2014

I went from having a few empties all month, to a whole stack just a couple days before the end of April. I don't know if I am the only one this happens to, but I seem to run out of a stack of things all at once. It's not always a cheap predicament to find myself in.

Here are my empties for the month of April, 2o14.

Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub
Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub.

This is a Holy Grail product in my beauty regime. It is the perfect product to get rid of dry chaffing on the lips and accelerate healing. I use this at night and follow it with a good lip balm.

Sadly this ended up in the bin because it expired, not because it is empty. I wish it came in a smaller size. I hate wasting product. A little bit goes a really long way. In saying this, it still won't stop me from repurchasing.

Repurchase? Already have.

Olay Essentials Wet Cleansing Wipes - Sensitive.
Olay Essentials Wet Cleansing Wipes - Sensitive.

Sensitive? I think not. I don't even consider my skin as being sensitive but picked these up anyways. They stung my eyes and made my skin feel tight. The packet may be empty but I didn't use them on my face, I used them to clean my makeup collection as not to waste them.

$4.99 AUD for a packet of 20 wipes.

Repurchase? No way.

Smart Value Cotton Tips

Smart Value Cotton Tips.

Cotton tips and pads can be super expensive. The tiny price tag and quality packaging is what drew me to these. They are awesome quality and don't bend or shed like their other cheap relatives.

Roughly $2 for a pack of 200 cotton tips. Exclusive to Big W.

Repurchase? Definitely.

Stella by Stella McCartney
Stella by Stella McCartney.

I love this fragrance so much. It's an all time favourite of mine. It wears beautifully and gets me lots of compliments. This bottle design was a limited edition.

$83 AUD (30ml) from David Jones, Myer and other fragrance stores.

Repurchase? Yes! This definitely wasn't my first bottle and won't be my last!

Glasshouse Candle in Manhattan
Glasshouse Candle in Manhattan.

I used to love Glasshouse candles, but I have recently found other brands like Circa Home and Yankee Candle that are cheaper, Burn longer and smell amazing (not that Glasshouse doesn't smell good).

Although I loved that this candle is black (I love all things black), I wasn't impressed by the lack of fragrance this candle. I can tell some people will be up in arms, but this candle was a definite disappointment.

Repurchase? No.

Have you used any of my empties before? What were your thoughts?

  1. I've been wanting to try Cupcake for a while since falling in love with the Mask of Magnaminty so this will definitely be next on my list! :)

  2. You have got to try it. It is so lovely. I can't wait to repurchase it. They aren't always in store because they are fresh, so if you see it buy it then and there.

  3. This happens to me too! I think it's because I flit between products and rarely get to the end. Then I go back to them and BAM! 1 billion empties. Cupcake mask is so delicious smelling, it's hard not to eat it :\

  4. I love a good cotton tip! It may seem like such a small thing but they are necessities! I only ever used swisspers but after deciding I should probably cut down on beauty expenses, decided to purchase a duo pack of tips and buds from kmart because they were cheap. I instantly regretted it! Such poor quality! Will Give these Big W tips a go! xxx
