Yankee Candle Haul

Friday, 25 April 2014

After hearing so many great things about these candles (and because I am such a candle fiend; to the point that I actually make and hand pour my own candles at home) I decided to treat myself to my very own baby Yankee Candle collection.

I got 1 medium jar candle and 5 Tarts® to use in my oil burner.

Yankee Candle boasts that the medium jar candle provides 65 - 90 hours of burn time (I'm not sure why there is such a big variant), and that the Tarts® supply up to 8 hours of fragrance.

To see which ones I picked and Yankee Candles description of their scent, keep reading.

Clean Cotton.

Sun-dried cotton combined with green notes, white flowers, and a hint of lemon.

I got this one because it smells so fresh and clean. I am a big fan of fresh linen scented candles generally, so I figured I would enjoy this one.

Black Cherry.
Black Cherry Yankee Candle Tart.

The absolutely delicious sweetness of rich, ripe black cherries.

Who doesn't like cherry scented anything?! If you just put your hand up, there may be something wrong with you; I suggest you get yourself to a doctor quickly. Okay, I'm kidding, but seriously, do I really need a reason for choosing to pick up Black Cherry?!

Black Coconut.

Sunset in paradise . . . rich coconut, cedarwood and island blossoms promise and evening of luxurious tranquillity.

When I first smelt this, I wasn't sure. Then in the end it was this scent and clean cotton that I found myself tossing up between to get as a jar candle. I chose to get the clean cotton jar and try this out in a melt. Who knows? Maybe this will be my next jar purchase.

Macintosh Spice.
Macintosh Spice Yankee Candle Tart.

Simply delicious . . . crisp, slightly tart apple slices sprinkled with freshly ground cinnamon.

This smells like fresh apple pie. A really warm and comforting smell, perfect for winter. I can't wait to snuggle up under my blanky, and burn this whilst watching movies and drinking tea.

November Rain.
November Rain Yankee Candle Tart.

A rainy fall day stirs up many emotions, as does this intoxicating, masculine, and moody fragrance with deep watery notes.

I can actually see myself burning this on a rainy day for some reason. It smells so comforting.

Lake Sunset™.

Sweet musky and moody, calling to mind the descent of nightfall, this fragrance will help you pause and reflect on those special slices of the day.

This smelt so familiar, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. It actually smells a lot like the type of perfume I would generally go for, so I snapped it up.

I got my Yankee candles from Spotlight. The candles retail at $29.95 and the Tarts at $3.99. However, I took advantage of the 5 samplers for $15 (this offer includes Votives and Tarts) which equated to one of the Tarts being free.

Feel free to request a review of any of these Yankee Candle products.

Have you used any Yankee Candle products before?
