Product Review: Dermalogica Precleanse

Monday, 10 February 2014

This product is amazing because it breaks down all of 'the day' on your face before you clean it so your skin can get the most out of your other products and avoid congestion!

What they say:
Nourishing Olive, Apricot and Kukui Nut oils cut through make-up, sunscreens and oil-based debris, readying them for easy removal. Add water to transform this hydrophilic (water-loving) formula into a milky emulsion that lifts debris from the skin’s surface, allowing your prescribed Dermalogica Cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colours.

What I say:

I Love to double cleanse my skin each evening and this is the perfect product for my first cleanse It effortlessly cleanses my skin, making it feel like I don't need to perform a second cleanse (but of course, I do anyway).

I perform the first cleanse with a different cleanser to remove makeup, dirt and oils and rinse off the day; followed by a second cleanse to deep cleanse and actually clean the skin.

Dermalogica's Directions for use:

Dispense into dry hands. Massage over dry face and eyes to dissolve surface oil and dirt. Concentrate on areas of congestion and stubborn debris. Wet hands and continue to massaging to create a light, milky emulsion. Rinse with lukewarm water. Follow with prescribed Dermalogica Cleanser for professional cleansing results.

Why I enjoy using this product so much:
  • A really small amount goes a long way. I use about a 10-cent piece sized amount of product each cleanse.
  • Effortlessly removes makeup without any excessive rubbing.
  • Removes waterproof mascara.
  • Removes eye makeup easily without stinging or creating blurry vision like other cleansing oils.
  • Suitable for all skin types. Believe it or not, it won't even make acne prone skin breakout (you may even find it helps your skin as it will remove a lot of the impurities that cause congestion).
  • While the container the product is in is hard to squeeze, the product disperses really easily.

I will repurchase this product over and over again until and if I discover something better. Grab yours for $51 AUD (150 ml) from David Jones, Endota Spa, Ella Rouge, or online from Dermalogica.

Do you double cleanse? What are you favourite cleansing products?
