January Favourites 2014

Wednesday, 5 February 2014

I got a bit slack last year with my monthly favourites and what better way to get back into the swing of them than with a new year!

1.  Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadow in 'Kitten'.
Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadow is a cream-to-powder eyeshadow with a magnificent metallic foil finish. The eyeshadow is buildable and can create a range of looks, from a sheer wash of intense shimmer, to a striking metallic full coverage look.

Included with the eyeshadow is the Stay All Day Liquid Eyeshadow Primer, that preps lids and allows for all day wear.

This is actually my first ever Stila purchase and I am obsessed. This super soft and creamy shadow looks amazing and lasts all day. I love to wear it alone or sparingly on top of other eyeshadows to add some oomph to my eye makeup look. The tiniest bit of product goes a really long way, so apply more sparingly than sparingly and build it up to your desired finish.

While it is pretty expensive ($49 AUD for 2 grams) I would definitely repurchase again when need be as I can honestly see this lasting me years.

Grab yours from Mecca Cosmetica.

2. Clarisonic Mia.
Redefining Skin Care Through Patented Technology. Oscillating at a sonic frequency that produces over 300 movements per second. The resulting flexing action created between the outer and inner brushes work to loosen dirt and oil, removing deep-seated impurities from pores and priming skin to better absorb topical treatments.

Since using this I have noticed a huge difference in the appearance and texture of my skin. It is smoother, brighter and redness is significantly reduced and my pores appear smaller. My serums and moisturisers absorb better into my skin, allowing them to do their job a little bit better.

These retail for $139 AUD and are available from clarisonic.com.au.

3. Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid with Organic Lemon Oil.
I love this stuff! It actually makes a dramatic difference to the health and appearance of your lips. I noticed a significant difference in the feeling and appearance of my lips very quickly. Pop this on at night and be surprised with the amazing results in the morning!

4. Maybelline Fit me Foundation.
I cannot begin to tell you how many people have commented on my skin and makeup, or asked me what foundation I use since I started using this little guy. I will basically tell anyone who will listen how much I love this stuff!

It lasts all day, makes my skin looks amazingly healthy and the price point is affordable at just $18.95 AUD (30 ml).

5. Kit Cosmetics Nail Polish in 'Clematis Blue'.
Those of you who follow me on Instagram will recognise this pic and this lovely colour.

This is such a pretty colour. It's not quite blue, not quite purple. From the moment I saw this colour and tried the tester I became obsessed. It didn't hurt that it was on sale either. I picked this colour up for 9.95 AUD reduced from $14.95.

My nails didn't chip in the slightest for days. This is huge for me, as my nails are pretty weak and chip really easily. I will definitely be trying other colours from Kit's range and really recommend them! If you are looking for a new nail polish colour have a look at what Kit Cosmetics have to offer.

So Beauties, those are my January favourites. What are yours?

Note: All opinions are my own.
