Translucent Powder: What's It All About?

Monday, 9 December 2013

I often get asked, "what is translucent powder?" and "what does translucent powder actually do?" well my Beauties, let me tell you!

Think of translucent powder as a makeup setting powder.
People are often scared of its fluorescent white colour, don't be! It offers no colour or coverage. Translucent powder is basically a powder that doesn't show up, doesn't alter the colour of your skin tone at all when it's applied.

Usually used as a blotting/setting powder, translucent powder is a great tool to set liquid and cream products, such as liquid foundation, cream blush, or cream bronzer.
Translucent powder comes in both loose and compact options. Neither is really better than the other, it all comes down to personal preference.

Luxe:

Try Laura Mercier's Loose Setting Powder. This powder is a lightweight, sheer and silky setting powder that contains the finest French "cashmere" talc and a unique light-reflecting ingredient that creates a "soft-focus" appearance for fine lines and imperfections.
