Product Review / How I Like To Use: M.A.C's Fix+

Wednesday, 23 October 2013

M.A.C's Fix+ is a definite 'must try' product as far as I'm concerned. But, despite it's name, this product doesn't actually act as a makeup fixing agent. Whats it all about then? Read on!

What they say:
"An aqua-spritz of vitamins and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup.

Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!"

What I say:
This product is truly amazing and something I can't live without having it in my makeup kit. It has so many different uses (see below). People with drier skin types really benefit from this product.

Do note, if you have super oily skin this product might not be for you, as you may feel your natural oils come through your makeup enough as it is without the extra help of fix+ to appear radiant (in other words, you might feel this makes you look extra oily). I have oily combination skin though and love this.

Ways I love to use it:

  • Spritz it all over the face before primer and makeup to hydrate and prep the skin.
  • After makeup application, especially after setting the face with powder to eliminate that flat look powder gives and to give a natural glow to the skin again.
  • With loose eyeshadow. Spray it on a brush prior to picking up eyeshadow for easier application and increased vibrancy of eyeshadow pigment.
  • As a refresher. When I feel dull or hot I spritz it all over my face for an instant pick-me-up.

This baby retails at $27AUD for 100ml. A smaller 30ml version is available for purchase at M.A.C and M.A.C Pro stores for roughly $18AUD.

Do you have any other tips and tricks for how you like to use your fix+?

Note: all opinions are my own.
