Rosehip Oil: Your Winter Skin Saviour

Why is it so good?
Rosehip oil can be used by all skin types and wont make you break out. It is great for
hydrating, quenching dry skin, treating sun damaged skin, and helping to improve the appearance of burns, scars, wrinkles and stretch marks. Basically, we all could benefit from this product.

Rosehip oil contains essential fatty acids and is rich in antioxidants. The essential fatty acids (omega-3, 6 and 9 fatty acids) are important for our general health and the health of our skin, but our bodies cannot produce them. These essential fatty acids help to regenerate skin cells and to repair damaged skin tissue.

Antioxidants help to assist in preventing premature ageing, as they help to protect our skin tissue.

How to use Rosehip Oil:

  • As a serum: You can use a few drops of this under your regular moisturiser.
  • As a moisturiser: Use a few drops all over morning and night alone. (I prefer not to use this during the day as I have oily combination skin).
Hint: This stuff does wonders the day after a big night out, as it provides super hydration to your dehydrated prune-like skin.

Looking after your Rosehip Oil investment:

Rosehip Oil has three enemies you need to consider when storing: heat, light, and air.

Keep your oil in a cool, dark place (like your bathroom cupboard); I keep mine in my bedside table (but you dont have to go so far as to keep it stored in the refrigerator). It is also important to make sure you close the lid of your product tightly every time you use it.

Exposure to air can quickly decrease the quality of rose hip oil.

Tips for when you buy:

  • Look for 100% organic.
  • Look for cold pressed oil.
  • My personal favourite oil is by Trilogy which retails at $21.95 for 20ml (pictured below):

  1. Love this product ! I'd been using it for about two weeks and was almost about to give up on it, until I'd read your blog . Safe to say, it's been a month now and I've already noticed the difference :)
