Product Review: Rimmel BB Cream

Tuesday, 12 March 2013

I really wanted and tried to like this BB cream by Rimmel, I really did. I read great things about it and all the Rimmel products I have tried in the past have delivered great results.

I don’t know if its my oily combination skin type or just the product itself that results in the view I now have of this BB Cream. The crappy way this sits on my skin, how greasy it feels, and the fact it rubs off on everything are just some of the reasons to list a few. If you have dry skin maybe you will be in luck. However, if your part of the oily/ oily combination skin club, I wouldn't bother giving this a go.

For those of you that don't know what BB Cream is, it's beauty balm. It's texture is meant to be somewhere in between a tinted moisturiser and a foundation. BB Creams are also known to deliver skin care benefits as well (these will vary depending on products).

This BB cream boasts to have 9-in-1 skin perfecting benefits: primes, moisturisers, minimises pores, conceals, covers, smoothes, mattifies, brightens, and helps protect. I personally feel this is a little rich for a $13 product (for 30ml), and I certainly feel it doesn't conceal or minimise pores; so there's 2 benefits you can rule out!

What BB Creams have you tried and recommend? Comment below :-)

  1. Thanks Kristen!! I have seen the ad for this and was intrigued. Can you tell us about some of your favourite foundations? I'm finding mine (rimmel stay matte) seems really greasy and comes off easily, much like the BB cream. I'm looking for something with good coverage.

  2. I have tried the Garnier BB Cream and found it was much the same as what you described above - no good for oily combination skin! It left my skin looking shiny and the tinted component did nothing to cover anything. Would love to hear about a BB cream that wasnt so greasy and had better coverage :)
